What is dividend yield?

Dividend yield is the annual dividend a stock pays, expressed as a percentage of its share price. It shows how much cash income you would receive each year for every dollar invested at the current price, before taxes and fees.

How to use this calculator

Enter the stock's current price and its total annual dividend per share. Both are typed in by hand: this calculator does not look up live prices or dividend history for you. Then choose whether to enter an amount you plan to invest or a number of shares you already own, to see the projected annual income and how the yield would change at other prices.

Limits of this estimate

This is an estimate based on the numbers you enter, not a recommendation or investment advice. Companies can cut, suspend, or raise their dividend at any time, and a dividend paid in the past does not guarantee what will be paid in the future. Check a company's actual dividend history and financial health before investing.
